Mina

Mina is a resident physician (class of ’25) in Diagnostic and Molecular Pathology (formerly known as Anatomical Pathology) at McGill University in Montréal, Canada. Mina has special interest in Gastrointestinal, Hepatic and Pancreaticobiliary pathology. He had pursued a post-doctoral fellowship and a master’s degree in medical liver investigating novel biomarkers in viral hepatitis B at the University of Toronto. Additionally, he has interest in Genitourinary pathology and had pursued a post-doctoral fellowship in translational research at the University of Toronto investigating molecular changes in kidney tumours. He worked in over 20 publications, focusing on molecular pathways, digital pathology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Deep Learning in diagnosing/reporting diseases. In the 2023 USCAP meeting in New Orleans, he was honoured with the GIPS award for his latest project on the prognostic implications of YAP IHC in upper GI adenocarcinomas in addition to the 2022 and 2023 APQ research award. Mina is heading to the University of Chicago for his fellowship in Gastrointestinal, Hepatic and Pancreaticobiliary pathology with Dr. John Hart in 2025-2026.

Mina has also served as Co-Chief Resident for the program, and as Vice-President, Pedagogical Affairs (specialties) for the Association of Residents of McGill, with representation at the FMRQ and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada
